A new DIAMOND is about to SHINE!

This new Star Mobile DIAMOND will surely shine up bright this summer 2013!
StarMobile diamond is announced via Happy Man by Star Mobile facebook fanpage post last thursday evening. The said phone has a dual camera 12MP(main) & 3MP(front) plus a BSI sensor which will enhance your photos and videos in low light circumstances. Good thing that it’s on HD graphics for better, clear and crisp view in terms of gaming or movie experience. Assuming that SM diamond runs in Android Jellybean 4.2 , Dualcore, 1GB ram, dual sim, Wifi ready, MicroSD slot up to 32GB.
Let’s just hope that the price will be cheaper and affordable for the general public. A good quality phone and features like starmobile diamond plus affordable price, then I think this will be the phone I’ll recommend to be the best in the Philippine market.
(though I’m not yet sure when will it be launch and available in the market). I’ll just update this post for the release date and availability of the phone :) so stay tuned! (laughs).

We spent our sunday FAMBAM (family day) ritual at TRAMWAY Buffet Plaza in Shaw Boulevard.
They offer Lunch and Dinner buffet which includes three Asian cuisines that Filipinos love the most namely: Chinese, Japanese and filipino dishes. If your a food maniac/warrior like me, then you’ll definitely enjoy there budget friendly buffet that cost Php 248 (per person) for Adults and Php 181 (per person) for kids buffet (4ft. below).
The simple white surroundings makes the place cozy and elegant while the modern design of there ceilings brighten up the mood inside.

Tip no.1 - You should take note first the buffet tips to avoid extra charges.

Tip no.2 - If your not that familiar in the food, just take a few to try it out.
They offer a wide range of food varieties from vegetables, seafood, meat, pasta, fruits and my favorite which is there desserts!
Staple Dishes: Yang Chow Fried Rice, Pancit Canton Guisado / Pasta
9 Main Dishes: (Examples: Steamed Fish, Sweet & Sour Pork, Vegetable w/ garlic, Fried Chicken, Tofu, Fried Wanton, Kikiam, Spring Roll, Hot Salad/Salad Roll)
Side Dishes: California Maki, Fried Pao, Century Egg, Japanese Steamed Egg, Chinese Dimsum, Vegetable Salad, Tossed Lettuce/Carrots/Cucumbers/Onions (Salad Dressing: Thousand Island Sauce), Macaroni Salad
Dessert: Seasonal Fresh Fruits (Examples:Watermelon/Papaya/Pineapple), Buchi, Bilo-Bilo with Peanut Toppings, Buko Pandan, Assorted Gelatin, Maja Blanca, Assorted Puto, Coffe Jelly and Buchi.
Tip no.3 - Don’t rush yourself from eating! Keep Calm and eat like a King or Queen.
Tip no.4 -Drinking too much water makes you FULL.

For the main dish SWEET & SOUR PORK is the best for my taste buds! It’s an amazing factor for me that the sweetness blends very well with the sour taste plus the tender and juicy pork. Good Job! :)

There heavenly and addictive coffee Jelly is a must try among all the desserts. I don’t know how do they balance the bitter taste of the coffee but the aroma plus it’s milky coffee taste is the best.

I still have a hangover with the overflowing travel deals yesterday (FEB. 17, 2013) in 20th Travel Tour Expo at the SMX Convention Center. Seriously, my eyes can’t stop looking at these awesome and wallet-friendly travel tour deals local or foreign there all amazing! Hundreds of travel agencies, resorts, countries, luxury cruise lines and even local and foreign airlines are present in the said event to give their best travel deals they can offer. The event also promotes that ” It’s More Fun In the PHILIPPINES!” by highlighting the different tourism spots of our country.
The first thing I did was to find the booth of Cebu Pacific Air to check if they offer on-the-spot low airfare flights in their domestic flights. Since my mom and I are both a Cebu Pacific Air solid fan (laughs). Luckily, they offer PHP 20 (base fare) for Domestic, PHP 200 (base fare) International and PHP 2000 (base fare) for DUBAI! I fall in line as fast as I could (LOL). After 2 hours of standing, waiting for our turn in the counter area. We finally booked our flight in our next travel escapade for only PhP 931.18/person (no baggage) just add 136 pesos for 15kg allowance i think. Good enough to travel in a budget-friendly way! Thanks JUAN! :)

Let me share you my short escapade during my trip to Guimaras Island.
It is located at southeast of Panay and northwest of Negros in Western Visayas, Philippines. Composed of (5) municipalities namely: Buenavista, Nueva Valencia, Jordan, San Lorenzo and Sibunag. There native dialect is Hiligaynon. More QUICK FACTS via Guimaras.gov.ph

We arrived early in the morning (5:30AM) at the Ilo-ilo International Airport via Cebu Pacific Air. For only Php 1,300 per person you can now enjoy and explore all the different amazing places in the Philippines.
Tip no.1 - keep on eyeing for the website of Cebu Pacific Air as they give awesome seats sale such as: 1 PISO fare, 20 pesos base fare etc. In order for you to travel in a budget and wallet friendly airfare :).

From the Ilo-ilo International Airport you can find a lot of vans lining up outside the car park. A one way trip from the airport to SM City Ilo-ilo would cost you Php 100 (per person). I suggest that just take a van than a taxi from the airport which will cost you cheaper.

Luckily, the ilonggo van driver brought us to Jordan Wharf where the pump boats (bangka) to Guimaras Island is placed. We just added an additional 100 pesos which is fair enough (Thanks MANONG!).

TIP no.2 - I advice you to buy some of your needs before going to Guimaras Island such as: mineral water, junk foods, sliced bread, biscuits, sandwiches, shampoo, soap, toothbrush etc. There are stores like the photo above that sells varieties of foods (chicha) and everything you might need before going to the island. Ang sarap ng puto with GATA! (laughs)
The 1st trip starts from 5:00 AM in the morning til 3:00 PM in the afternoon only. You can buy your tickets there in the wharf Php 14 (per person). The pump boats there are big enough to sustain big and small waves tho we all enjoyed the bumpy ride (laughs).

Pump boat (bangka), is the only transportation you can use going to Guimaras Island. So if your a fierce explorer that seeks amazing adventure then you must visit Guimaras!
These pictures below are taken when we’re about to leave Guimaras Island Port.

Ticket booth at the port of Guimaras Island.

Tip no. 3 - The first thing you need to do when you reach the port of Guimaras is that to find the department of tourism desk and ask for a map of the island, tourist attractions, places to go and everything you want to ask for them to guide you.
Tip no. 4 - After asking the DOT representatives go straight to the jeepney’s area and take a ride to alibuhod beach. Take note to the folks out there that will offer you tons of services and travel tours around the island for a 1000 pesos I think. It is better for you to commute in the different places in Guimaras which will cost you Php 7 each. Cheaper and wiser than renting a jeep. But if your in a BIG group then renting a jeep is much wiser :).
Tip no.5 - Check in first to your desired resort before exploring the beautiful island of Guimaras.
The common transportation they use in the island are mini cabs, BIG colorful jeepneys and tricycles.

My mom asked the locals there for some resorts where we can have an over night stay in the island, then they suggest the Alobijod Cove Resort. The ride from Guimaras port to the gas station Php 50 (per person) the small gas station serves as there terminal to all jeepney’s which would take you 2 hours of travel tim. Then a 30 minute tricycle ride Php 15 (per person) down to Alobijod Cove Resort proper.
The guimarasnon are the nicest people promise! I would like to thank lots of local folks out there whom help us during our short escapade in Guimaras <3.

Along the road there are stops which you can go down for a while (10- 5 minutes) and buy some goodies just approach the jeepney driver or conductor if you want to buy something.
The guy in red holding those mangoes that my mom bought is the conductor of the jeepney, even tho i didn’t ask him to help my mom since i’m in charge with our baggage in the jeepney he still helped my mom with her “bitbit”. I told you there are the nicest people :).
Guimaras is known for there SWEET mangoes. INDEED they are!

Alibuhod Beach Resort

My favorite place in the resort was there canteen!
Tip no.6 - You can order your foods in advanced just tell them what time they’ll prepare your food. One thing I noticed is that there menu is good for 2 - 3 persons which is bulky in our tummy! About the price, your 500 pesos would take far enough.
Tip no.7 - Every morning watch out for the fisher men folks in the long white beach as they sell sea foods for a low price! You can ask the cooks in the canteen to cook the seafoods you bought with a minimum charge.

New rooms.

Free use of the nippa huts :).

A stolen picture with my lil sis.

Hotel rooms starts from 1000 (fan rooms) to 3200 maximum (aircon).
ALOBIJOD COVE RESORT (Alubihud Beach Drive, Nueva Valencia, Guimaras) Tel nos. 396-80-36/ (0922)8626972
New Building: Aircon w/ Balcony
Maja’s room #1-4 with 2 double size beds, 4 mattresses, T&B (4-8pax) = Php 3200
Maja’s room #5-8 with 1 double size bed, T&B (2pax) = Php 1,500
The long white beach of Alobijod Cove Resort in Guimaras Island is priceless. It’s virgin island and white beaches is a must see for all pinoy adventurers who wants to have a peaceful mind set after a stressful day at work. A paradise of simplicity, everything you need is with in the place. No signal, TV and gadgets just you with your camera to explore the beauty of nature. It’s a realization to me that a simple life is enough to make yourself satisfied in the things you have. I just wish that this island can preserve it’s beauty. Even tho spoilers might come in the coming future of the islands FAME.
A special thanks to the awesome folks from CEBU PACIFIC AIR <3 :)
Wait for my Guimaras Island Webisode and the part 2 of my escapade where we visited Trappist Abbey. See you soon!
